Wednesday 6th December 2017

After lots of hard work and practice, we performed our nativity play to parents and other guests this afternoon.  Everything went smoothly!  At the end, Mrs Johnson commented how well we had performed and projected our voices, how clearly everyone spoke and how well we all sang.  Everyone was very proud of us!

Thank you to everyone who helped us and to our families and friends in the audience.   We hope you enjoyed it!

Great Fire of London Day!

On Friday 17th November we had a Great Fire of London day in Year 2.  The children were asked to come in dressed as a person from 1666.  We had some great costumes and the children (and parents!) all made such a huge effort.  We even had our very own Samuel Pepys in 2P!  In the morning we had a workshop where we travelled back in time to 1666 and lived through the events of the plague and the Great Fire.  After that we had lots of creative activities to enjoy.  We iced biscuits, made rat masks, created a class scene of the Great Fire and even got to make and burst our own pus-filled buboes from the plague…..urgh!

We had lots of fun and some children even commented that it was their best day at school, ever!

As part of STEM week, we have been enjoying different Science, Technology and Maths activities.  We used strips of cardboard to create triangular prism shapes.  Our challenge was to make a tall tower, or a tower which we could balance an object on.

What do you think of our creations?  Leave a comment below.

Welcome to St Peter and St Pauls. This is your first post. Edit or delete it, then start blogging!

A few quick tips before you delete this automated blog post:

  • Make sure your first post is an exciting and engaging one!
  • Ask your children what they think of the blog and what they would like to see on it. Act on their recommendations.
  • Make sure your blog demonstrates to your children how much you personally love learning. Your example will be powerful.
  • Celebrate your children’s achievements and consider them the primary audience for this blog.
  • Use hyperlinks to connect your children with content from other classes around your school, other websites and other schools around the globe.

Commit these tips to memory and then delete them. They will self-destruct anyway if this blog exhibits any signs of being boring.

This blog will be what you make it. Enjoy!
